There were a lot of activities that were carried out in the month of July for the children. Below is a quick over view of the various initiatives.

Magic Show

Much excitement was seen among the children at Shreevatsa as a magic show was arranged for them in the play area on  July 2nd. The children were overjoyed with the magic tricks  and  amused to take part in the magic tricks with the magician.

 

 

 

 

Tree Plantation

To imbibe the importance of nature and environment in the children, they are often taken in the garden to be close to nature. On July 4th, a seed planting event was arranged. We had tiny hands sowing seeds and planting saplings  in the garden with much enthusiasm. They were told the importance of trees and how they help all of us.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Palkhi

To mark the occasion of Ashadhi Ekadashi, on July 9th  children at Shreevatsa were dressed up in a traditional attire.  A palkhi procession was arranged in the play area and the children moved with it chanting the name “Vitthal  Vitthal”. They were told the significance of this activity.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Birthday Party

There is much hustle and bustle at Shreevatsa on the third Saturday of every month. It is birthday celebration time for all. Birthdays of all children, staff and volunteers falling in the current month are celebrated with pomp and grandeur. On 16th July, guests and parents with their adopted children gathered to celebrate the birthdays. Staff members and volunteers very busy serving everybody with snacks and cake.  The children at Shreevatsa eagerly wait for the monthly birthday party.

 

 

Gurupournima

A thanks giving day to teachers was celebrated at Shreevasta in a special way On the 19th July. The teaching staff at Shreevatsa was given small gifts by their students, showing love and respect for the Guru. Children entertained their teachers through a role play game.  There was also a role playing game. They were explained the significance of the day and what it meant to celebrate Guru pournima

 

 

 

Plastic Surgery Day

Sassoon Hospital celebrated the Plastic Surgery Day on 15th July, 2016. On this  occasion SOFOSH arranged a distribution of providing the fruit packets to the needy patients in this ward. The HOD Dr.Parag Sahastrabudhhe, other doctors, social workers, nurses, servants  participated this event.
